More than 5 million forints donated as a result of the charity wine auction

The second charity wine auction of the Rotary Club Budapest -Margitsziget ended with extraordinary success. The cheerful and deeply human event proved once again that when people with good intentions come together for an important cause, a real miracle can be born. A significant part of the wine selection put up for auction was provided by generous donations from excellent Hungarian wineries, but following the tradition of the previous year, exciting, special bottles from Italian, French, Slovak, German and American wineries also went under the hammer this year. The auction catalog thus awaited the bidders with real curiosities.

The event, held in the special atmosphere of the Tokaj ArtWine Gallery, brought in a total of 5.6 million forints in revenue. However, the success is not only due to the organizing club: a generous auctioneer doubled the amount raised from the auction on site, so the Fellegajtó Nyitogatók Alapítvány will receive several times the desired amount of support. The donation will be presented on December 18th, as part of the Rotary Club Budapest-Margitsziget’s Christmas event, providing significant assistance to the daily operations and planned developments of the institution that cares for severely and multiple-disabled children.

The Rotary Club Budapest-Margitsziget operates in conjunction with the Rotary International world organization and is committed to working for the well-being of the community and strengthening social responsibility. In this spirit, it also organized the second charity wine auction, at which all 120 bottles donated found a home. Recognition goes to all those who contributed in any way to the success of the evening. Special thanks go to the wineries’ donations, the support of our sister clubs in Berlin, Milan and Paris, and the generosity of all those who raised money by bidding against each other for this noble cause. “After our first wine auction last year, we promised to organize this special fundraising program again in 2025. Now, it is a great pleasure for us to celebrate a result that far exceeded our expectations, thanks to the power of community cooperation,” said Ferenc Szénási, President of the Rotary Club Budapest–Margitsziget.

The club’s goal remains to provide meaningful assistance to those in need through domestic and international partnerships and to strengthen the culture of community responsibility.
