More than 4,800 hectares of tobacco to be planted this year
The tobacco farmers will plant more than 4,800 hectares of tobacco this year, just like the last year – the president of the Hungarian Tobacco Growers' Association (MADOSZ) told MTI.
Bényei Illés, the president of the Hungarian Tobacco Growers' Association (MADOSZ) told that the big tobacco producers are raising the seedlings themselves, while the smaller plants buy the plants for planting from seedling plants.
Due to the early spring of this year, the planting is expected to begin before usual. Previously, planting took place in the first week of May. (MTI)
