More than 300 new fish species have been identified in Russian freshwater
The study, led by researcher Yuri Dildin of Tomsk State University and will soon be published in the journal Zootaxa, was conducted by Russian, Czech and German researchers.
According to Dildin, quantitative data on fish biodiversity are mostly based on mid-century research with minor additions, thus providing erroneous information about Russia’s fish stocks. (MTI)
