Rossmann is expanding with more than 200 stores
This year, the Rossmann drugstore chain will spend hundreds of millions of euros on expanding and modernizing its store network, based on the company’s announcement on Thursday.
With an investment of 390 million euros this year, Rossmann plans to open 253 new stores, including 75 stores in its domestic market, Germany, and the rest in its foreign operations, including Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Albania, Kosovo and Turkey.
At the end of 2023, Rossmann’s entire store network consisted of 4,741 stores with 62,000 employees. Of these, the company maintained 2,288 stores in Germany with 39,600 employees.
Rossmann’s largest foreign market is Poland with around 1,800 stores. According to Rossmann’s January report, it achieved sales revenue of 13.9 billion euros in 2023, 14.4 percent higher than the previous year. The company does not disclose its profits.
