The NAV has carried out more than 12 thousand pálinka inspections
The finance guards of the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) have carried out more than 12 thousand pálinka inspections since the beginning of the year. The staff of the authority not only tested the stocks of pubs and restaurants and market stalls, but also attempted to uncover illegal pálinka trade on web interfaces and auction sites – Magyar Nemzet wrote.
The daily points out, that since 27 September 2010 anyone can distill a certain amount of pálnika freely, tax-free at home, but the brewed beverage can be used for own purpose only.
However, according to the experiences of experts, more and more internet ads are published, that offer home-made pálinka, although selling one liter of pálinka may result a fine of 30 thousand HUF.
