More than 10 tons of pet food collected thanks to Lidl
With the help of customers, Lidl Hungary is donating nearly 10,000 kilograms of pet food, worth a total of 5 million forints, during this year’s Telitálka campaign. This is the fourteenth time the supermarket chain has raised awareness of responsible pet ownership and helped four-legged friends in difficult circumstances. The donation was received by the NOÉ Animal Home Foundation and the Rex Dog Home Foundation.
Lidl Hungary’s social responsibility activities focus on supporting responsible pet ownership, and in this spirit, it launched its fun and interactive fundraising initiative, the Telitálka campaign, years ago.
Community collaboration for responsible pet ownership
This year’s initiative was also joined by veterinarian Dr. Pálma Piller, with whom the company drew attention to the fact that responsible pet ownership requires attention, knowledge and commitment for a long, happy and healthy life for pets.
The campaign took place on social media: the “Vote, what would a dog’s perfect day be like!” In the series of giveaways, followers increased the donation amount by 500 forints with each comment between October 6 and 30, 2025. The game was very popular among users, with more than 10,000 comments on the posts during the campaign period. Commentators also participated in weekly draws, where 5 Lidl gift cards worth 10,000 forints were awarded.
“As a responsible and ethical company, it is of utmost importance for Lidl Hungary to support initiatives that create real value together with its customers. Animal welfare is also like that, which is why our Telitálka initiative was launched for the 14th time this year”
– said Dr. Tamás Kaibinger, Head of Corporate Relations at Lidl Hungary.
“We are proud that the campaign has once again proven that together we can do a lot for responsible animal husbandry. As a result of the joint effort, Lidl is supporting the small animals protected by the NOÉ Animal Shelter Foundation and the Rex Dog Shelter Foundation with nearly 10 tons of pet food worth 5 million forints.”
During the Telitálka campaigns so far, Lidl has already donated nearly 112 tons of pet food worth 45.5 million forints to shelters. The company is committed to continuing its programs supporting responsible animal husbandry and community awareness-raising campaigns in the future.
