Food Bank saved more than 10,000 tonnes of food in 2024
In 2024 the Hungarian Food Bank Association collected and distributed 10,359 tonnes of food that was close to its expiry date or had some kind of packaging fault.

This way the association helped 245,000 people in need. The total value of the donations was HUF 17.1bn, plus the food bank also had a positive impact on the environment: 24,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions were prevented by rescuing food. “Saving food is both a social and an environmental mission”, told András Nagygyörgy, the association’s director of external relations. //
