Several billion forints allocated for the development of agricultural vocational training

At the handover of the training slaughterhouse and meat processing plant of the Kiskunfélegyháza Agricultural and Food Industry Technical School and Vocational School of the Southern ASzC, the State Secretary highlighted that agriculture is one of the pioneers of technological development. Digital technology, precision farming, high-level mechanization and automation, robotics and artificial intelligence are part of everyday life, from tilling the land to harvesting and processing. The modern 21st century and the acquisition of 21st-century knowledge requires an appropriate educational environment, which is why the Ministry of Agriculture places great emphasis on the development of agricultural vocational training, he added. He explained that within the framework of the project, teaching materials have been developed in the agricultural and food processing industries that facilitate the effective transfer of knowledge necessary for successful farming. During the knowledge sharing, which is different from the traditional one, the participants can be enriched primarily with practice-oriented knowledge and experience. The implementation of innovative demonstration plant programs requires the development of modern infrastructure and the development of the institutions’ equipment. Therefore, the schools also purchased power and work machines, food industry machines, precision equipment, and IT equipment with this money, but there were places where infrastructural developments were implemented. In Kiskunfélegyháza, for example, in addition to the renewed teaching farm, a modern teaching slaughterhouse and meat processing plant serves the training of students, he emphasized.

The facility supports the practical education of precision farming and modern agricultural technologies. As part of the investment, an agricultural tractor, baler, loader and interactive simulation classroom were purchased, worth a total of almost 200 million forints. He highlighted that Hungarian agricultural vocational training plays a key role in the development of the countryside. Such developments not only serve the current training of students, but also ensure the development of future agricultural professionals in the long term. At the event, the State Secretary spoke about how demonstration farms can strengthen the vision and the necessary tools that can increase the number of young farmers. In addition, sustainability, digitalization and innovation are also suitable for addressing the growing generation. In the field of agriculture, every professional, farmer, and in general: every hardworking hand is needed. Within this, there is a huge demand for well-trained labor, the State Secretary emphasized.
