Tesco can close several Hungarian units
The Tesco supermarket chain plans to close unprofitable stores in Hungary – the Magyar Nemzet was informed by the inner circles of the multinational company. The measure, that was made due to the food chain management fee’s raising to its sixtyfold can result in the dismissal of 500-600 employees.
One insider Tesco staff told the newspaper that 10-12 rural Tesco units can be closed in settlements where not only one Tesco is operating, but there are other nearby, more frequented unit of the chain. This reduces the annual revenue, which forms the basis of the food chain management fee. (Magyar Nemzet Online)
