After collecting thousands of votes, it was revealed what this year’s Beer of the Country was
In 2023, Ország Söre became a New England IPA-type beer – that is, light, unfiltered, rich in hops, very restrained in bitters – and this year, for the first time, it was born from a recipe put together based on the requests of beer fans.
On the azorszagsore.hu site, until the beginning of April, consumers of small-brewery beers could vote, among other things, on what type, color, flavor, concoction made with or without fruit the Ország Söre should be in 2023. Beer selection is behind the initiative, and after the votes were tallied, the recipe for the new beer was refined and brewed at the Ugar Brewery in Töröksszentmiklós. The special yeast from YeastFlow, also from Hungary, was responsible for the fermentation of the beer.
