Thousands of children living in extreme poverty got clean clothes
With a national campaign, Persil drew attention to a special type of deprivation, the hygienic poverty affecting young children. The brand – like last year – not only presented the resulting health and social disadvantages, but also provided thousands of families with the opportunity to get clean clothes on a regular basis. In addition, he also supported the Új Start Foundation’s talent program supporting disadvantaged young people with a significant amount.
A dirty, unkempt appearance can have countless social disadvantages for a small child: it can prevent him from integrating into the community, and even negatively affect his future. Recognizing this social problem, Persil already took significant steps to alleviate hygiene poverty last year, and with the help of a comprehensive, national program and the effective cooperation of the New Start Foundation, more than 2,500 households were provided with enough detergent for several months.
The highly successful action, which was also awarded at the CSR Hungary presentation, continued in 2023. The goal remains that everyday clean clothes should be natural for the little ones, even if they come from a disadvantaged area. To this end, HUF 10 from the price of each Persil product sold between July 1st and August 31st was used to support a cleaner future for disadvantaged children, and they undertook to provide needy families with at least 300,000 kg of clean clothes this year.
In addition to the material donations distributed, Persil supports the Új Start Foundation’s talent program for underprivileged children with the monetary donation collected during the campaign, thereby enabling dozens of children to successfully complete their secondary and higher education.
