Several thousand liters of alcohol were seized in Bács-Kiskun, proceedings were initiated for violation of the excise law
Proceedings were initiated on suspicion of violation of the excise law and budget fraud in the case in which 4,000 liters of alcohol intended for pálinka, 4,500 liters of sugar mash and distilling equipment were seized by the employees of the National Tax and Customs Office (NAV) in a settlement in Bács-Kiskun County.
NAV informed MTI on Monday that their employees knocked on a family house in Bács-Kiskun for an excise inspection, and then went to a farm. When inspecting the properties, he found about 4,000 liters of alcohol intended for brandy in cans and tanks, and 4,500 liters of boiling sugar mash and a huge distilling equipment in the cellar of one of the outbuildings.
Experts from the disaster management were called in to take the sample, because due to the gases leaving the boiling mash, it was only possible to get close to the large container in special protective clothing – they wrote in the announcement.
