The world wants more and better formula, dynamic growth of the goat milk powder sector is expected
Demand for milk powder made from goat’s milk stagnated for a long time, but due to the expanding formula market, serious growth is expected in the sector. Most breast milk substitutes are made from goat’s milk.
The market for goat’s milk-based milk powder grows by about 8 percent annually, and between 2022 and 2027 it is expected to grow to a market worth 5 billion dollars, according to recent research by Arizton. Currently, the Asia-Pacific region shows the most dynamically growing market, where more than half of the goat milk powder sector can already be linked to the growing demand for nutritional supplements. By 2027, the region will overtake Europe as well, which currently accounts for 31.44 percent of the market.
It seems that consumers not only want more, but also better quality formula, and are willing to pay much more for it: in the coming years, the competition will revolve around price and availability as well as GMO certification and organic origin.
