The latest tender phase of the Hungarian Village Program will start again with a budget of ten billion forints, announced Alpár Gyopáros, the government commissioner responsible for the development of modern settlements. Settlements with fewer than five thousand inhabitants can submit their tenders from July 2, which this time also offer 100% pre-financed support in seven different development areas.

According to the government commissioner, the program will now support the purchase of not only buses, but also off-road vehicles and pickups that help with farm care work – in accordance with the request of those living on farms. In the case of buses, a maximum of 18 million forints can be applied for, while in the case of farm care vehicles, a maximum of 15 million forints can be applied for.

The support can also be applied for for the renovation of properties serving local government purposes, such as the construction of service apartments – up to a value of 50 million forints. The same amount can also be requested for the modernization or expansion of kindergartens, given that the number of kindergarten-age children has increased in many settlements due to the rural CSOK.

A maximum of 15 million forints can be requested for the purchase of equipment that helps maintain public areas – such as tractors, bobcats, power machines. In addition, a maximum of six million forints of support can be requested for medical equipment, IT equipment, toys, furniture and other items that help perform local government tasks. As a novelty this year, the purchase of equipment necessary for the construction of camera systems in public areas has also become a supported goal.

Alpár Gyopáros emphasized that since the launch of the Hungarian Village Program, more than 37 thousand applications have received support, with a total value of approximately 1,100 billion forints. The aim of the current call for proposals remains to strengthen the retention power of small settlements and improve the quality of life of those living there – whether it is about public services, child rearing, or even local public safety.
