Ten billion HUF from Széchenyi Rest Card
At the moment, the Széchenyi Rest Card does not seem to be a success story. According to the datas of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) last year the revenues of hotels increased by 8.2 percent on current price to 152 billion HUF, but only 10 billion HUF came from Széchenyi Rest Cards and 3 billion HUF from holiday vouchers.
In its heyday the holiday vouchers were more popular than the Széchenyi Rest Cards: In 2009 they brought 25.4 billion HUF in 2010, 28.9 billion HUF revenues. While in 2009 there were 2 million holiday voucher owners, the NGM’s datas show that there are about 765 thousand cardholders in the country currently. (Vég Márton, Világgazdaság Online)
