The economic sentiment of the euro area is on a ten-year peak
The economic climate in the euro area in August strengthened to a more than ten-year peak.
According to a report issued Wednesday by the European Economic and Financial Affairs (EcFin), the Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) in the euro area increased from 111.3 points in July by 0.6 points, to 111.9 points. Analysts expected 111.3 points.
In terms of the European Union, the economic mood index dropped by 0.3 points to 111.9 points, its value declined slightly in July, compared to the 10-year peak. (MTI)
