The bluetongue disease is affecting fourteen counties
Fourteen counties are affected by the bluetongue disease. Restrictive measures had to be introduced because of the illness on two-thirds of the country – Földi Zsolt, chief technical adviser of the National Food Chain Safety Office told at a conference on Wednesday in Veszprém.
Földi Zsolt explained that sick animals were detecte in Békés, Csongrád and Bács-Kiskun counties, but the introduction of the restrictive measures is necessary because of the disease in 14 counties in the country. The location and size of the affected area is constantly changing – he added. The Senior Advisor also told that the number of animals is less than 100 that were infected with the pathogen. (MTI)
