Conference Board’s confidence index is on a seventeen year peak
U.S. consumer confidence increased more than expected in October to the highest in almost 17 years as Americans grew more confident about the economy and job market.
The New York-based Conference Board’s confidence index increased to 125.9 points, the highest since December 2000, from the 120.6 points of September.
The consumer expectationsindex increased to 109.1 points, a seven-month high, from 103 points. (MTI)
