SCHUITEMA to sell ten stores in Netherlands
Dutch retailer Schuitema has said it is to sell ten ailing C1000 stores. Seven will be handed over to discount retailer Aldi, while two will go to Schwarz Group's Lidl, and one to Dirk van den Broek.
Supermarket group Ahold booked a drop
of 14% in second quarter operating profit as price cuts and in-store
promotions cut into its margins.
Ahold booked net profit of €338m in
the second quarter, including €162m from the sale of Schuitema.
