The number of guests of commercial accommodation increased by ten percent in the first quarter in the Czech Republic
In the first quarter, 4.1 million guests stayed at commercial accommodation in the Czech Republic, which is an increase of 9.9 percent year-on-year. The number of domestic and foreign tourists both increased, the Czech Statistical Office announced on Friday in Prague.
Tourists spent a total of 10.6 million guest nights at accommodations, 7.7 percent more than in the first quarter of 2023.
According to statisticians, tourism will continue to rise in the Czech Republic from the second quarter of 2021. The decline in 2020 was basically caused by measures taken due to the coronavirus epidemic.
In January-March this year, 1.9 million foreign tourists stayed at commercial accommodation in the Czech Republic, the number of Czech guests was 2.2 million.
