Ten-point climate protection guide: immediate action is needed
Climate change is no longer just a distant threat, but a present challenge that seriously affects Hungary as well. The consequences of climate change are becoming more and more obvious, extreme weather phenomena are becoming more frequent and intense. In order to deal with this, eleven well-known experts came together to provide the public with a guide consisting of ten points, which encourages decision-makers and people to take action, says the 24.hu article.
Experts emphasize that immediate measures are needed to reduce emissions, it is not enough to simply adapt to the changing environment. The effects of climate change are already present, and they may worsen in the coming years if no changes are made. In climate protection, especially the wealthiest have a great responsibility, but every individual can also contribute to maintaining the future.
Agriculture is one of the most vulnerable sectors seriously affected by climate change. In Hungary, for example, the cultivation of corn and potatoes may become more and more difficult. Extreme weather such as tornadoes, floods and heat waves are becoming more frequent, and their consequences, which are already felt at the international level, such as migration and food problems, will only continue to increase.
The aim of the experts is to warn everyone with clear, unequivocal messages: managing the climate crisis is the joint responsibility of all of us.
