They want to double the number of water tourists in Hungary in ten years
The main objective of the National Water Tourism Strategy is to double the number of water tourists in Hungary in the next ten years, said the State Secretary responsible for Hungary at the Ministry of Public Administration and Regional Development at a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday.
Máriusz Révész believed that attractive attractions were also needed to increase the number of water tourists. He mentioned the lookout towers on Lake Tisza as an example.
The State Secretary said that the strategy dealt with smaller water-based devices powered by human power and wind, and therefore also addressed improving the conditions for small boat sailing. For the latter, he stated that the goal was to make it possible to sail around Lake Balaton, which is currently only possible in theory, but does not work in practice.
Máriusz Révész told MTI that the government has already accepted the National Water Tourism Strategy, which was created as a result of two years of work, and in the development of which organizations such as the National Directorate General of Water Management, the Hungarian Kayak-Canoe Association and the Hungarian Water Tourism Association were involved.
