The Vál-Völgye Bakery performed outstandingly at the prestigious international bread competition held in Linz, Austria: the Hungarian bakery won a total of ten awards, including three gold, four silver and three bronze medals.

The International Bread Competition is a significant professional competition in the European baking industry, to which bakeries and artisan bakeries from several countries submit their breads, pastries and sweet baked goods. The products are evaluated by an experienced professional jury based on several criteria – taste, texture, appearance and technological execution all play a role in the scoring. One of the most important elements of the competition is the blind test, which ensures that the jury makes decisions solely based on the quality of the product.

During the blind test, the jury awarded the Majszi butter biscuits produced for Brendon with the maximum 100 points, thus the product won the gold medal with a flawless qualification.

The chocolate-coconut biscuits and the poppy seed bagel also received gold medals. The beetroot bread, the walnut bagel, the muscovado biscuits and the butter croissant won silver medals. The cocoa snail, the pistachio snail and the braided cake won bronze medals.

“It is a particularly great recognition for us that one of our products received the maximum score in the blind test. This shows that our approach based on quality ingredients and traditional technologies holds its own on an international level”

– said Kinga Kenéz-Hanyecz, founder of Vál-Völgye Pékség.

Several of the awarded products can also be found in the breakfast and dinner offerings of Hunguest Hotels hotels, so guests can also encounter the internationally recognized baked goods in their everyday lives.

Vál-Völgye Pékség, which is part of the Mészáros Group, is a Hungarian bakery with a craft approach, which primarily serves the HoReCa sector. Its products are currently available in about 70 hotels in Hungary. The awards just won confirm the professional work of the bakery team and their commitment to quality.
