Secret tips that can make our household appliances last longer
When we buy a new household appliance, we tend to start using it based on our habits, the well-established routine, or our intuition, ignoring the manufacturer’s request that we read the user manual carefully before using it. Most of the time, we only start looking for this little booklet in a panic when we experience some kind of error or abnormal operation, even though they also contain many useful maintenance tips that can prevent many problems. LG Hungary’s experts have now collected the most useful, “secret” for many, but at least until now, hidden advice for the four most popular large household appliance categories – refrigerators, washing machines, dryers and dishwashers.
Let’s look behind the fridge!
The condenser grid at the back of the refrigerator is often covered with dust and dirt, which impairs the cooling efficiency, as the heat generated during the cooling process is harder to escape. Therefore, it is recommended to vacuum or wipe this area at least once a year.
Many refrigerators have a hole inside the back wall to drain excess moisture that has condensed and collected on the cold surface. This also needs to be cleaned regularly so that it does not become clogged or moldy.
From time to time, the rubber insulation of the door should also be checked for cracks or deformation. If you find a fault here, replace the seal, because with inadequate insulation, the cold escapes, which results in higher energy consumption and faster spoilage of food.
