The quality level of toilets in hotels and restaurants often falls below the standard guests expect. Erika Sárközi, a junior product and market manager with SCA Hygiene Products Kft. agrees that a well-equipped, squeaky clean toilet room is inevitable to a quality bar or restaurant. She added that many owners still believed that cheaper tissue was a means of cutting costs; in her opinion 4-5 thinner tissues were needed to do the job of 1-2 higher quality tissues. Adequate hand hygiene is crucial, especially in public toilet rooms.

Westminster University in London examined whether paper towels, warm-air hand dryers or new generation jet-air hand dryers were better. After using hand dryers, the number of bacteria on the palm increased by 254 percent. By using paper towels the number of bacteria on the palm was reduced by 77 percent. Tork’s new hand drying system guarantees an increased level of hygiene. Viktor Tóth, head of office at Italclean System Kft. is of the opinion that most bars and restaurants are making a mistake when using household cleaning devices and products.

The company also sells toilet hygiene products; their special product range is Diavolina Bio consists exclusively of biological products made from microorganisms and enzymes. Anita Falajtár from JohnsonDiversey did not experience a growing demand for such products, however, they pay special attention to distributing products which do not constitute a big environmental burden. Erika Sárkozi told that SCA was the second ‘greenest’ company in the world and world number one in the tissue category.
