Time Out Market Budapest: a new gastro center is born in Blaha
The iconic walls of Corvin Palace will host the first Time Out Market in Central and Eastern Europe, bringing together the outstanding gastronomic figures not only of Budapest but of all of Hungary under one roof.
Time Out Market Budapest will open its doors later this year in the renovated Corvin Palace building, on an area of approximately 2,500 square meters. The new gastronomic and cultural center aims to unite the capital’s best chefs, restaurants and beverage offerings, while also welcoming visitors with diverse program venues and cultural experiences.
Chefs, memories, modern muses
One of the pillars of the concept is storytelling: the campaign preceding the opening highlights the cultural heritage and present of Budapest with the participation of contemporary artists and gastronomic creators. The “modern muses” – including Barbara Schoblocher (Blahalouisiana), actor Franciska Törőcsik, Roland “Wolfie” Farkas (Punnany Massif) and gastro-journalist András Hering – connect the soul of the city with the characters of the gastro-pub through their personal stories.
Tradition Reimagined: Canteen by Pesti István
István Pesti, the two-Michelin-starred chef of Platán Gourmet in Tata, returns to Budapest with a new concept. Canteen by Pesti István does not offer fine dining, but invites guests on a nostalgic journey with home-made, traditional Hungarian flavors – such as goulash soup, veal Vienna, chicken paprikash and apple pie. “I cook from the heart and memories,” says the chef.
A Balaton feeling with Casa Christa
Casa Christa evokes the gastronomic world of the Balaton Uplands. The menu features fresh fish, regional dishes based on local ingredients, and reimagined Balaton classics. The goal: to create an atmosphere that evokes the experience of sunny rural landscapes and shared meals.
