The entire area of Győr-Moson-Sopron County and three districts of Komárom-Esztergom County (Esztergom, Komárom and Tata) are affected by the Resolution of the National Chief Veterinarian published on April 4. According to this, the transport of live animals susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) must be planned in such a way that they avoid the affected areas. RSZKF is extremely easily spread, and can be transmitted by infectious objects and even the wind, and susceptible animals can also become infected by inhaling the virus. The elimination of transit transport through restricted areas can help prevent the spread of RSZKF, which also contributes to reducing the damage caused by the disease. The authority asks live animal transporters to strictly comply with the order and to immediately re-plan their transport routes.
