Tesco and Vodafone established a joint company called Tesco Mobile
The joint venture was formed with half-scale ownership among Vodafone Hungary and Tesco Stores Ltd. to provide mobile services – the two companies announced at a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday.
The Tesco Mobile will be a so-called virtual mobile phone and internet service provider (MVNO) a company which offers its mobile services without own network infrastructure and frequency. The new mobile service provider will lease the network of Vodafone.
The new service is expected to start in the first half of 2012 with competitive prices – said Beck György, CEO of Vodafone Hungary, and this was also confirmed by Gerry Gray, the CEO of Tesco Stores. Beck György, in response to journalists' questions told that the new service will have a new prefix, but the number depends on the authority's answer – writes MTI.
