Tesco: Energy from expired meat
According to the plans of British chains of stores, around five thousand tonnes of expired meat unfit for consumption would be burned. It would be enough to power six thousand households.
However, animal welfare organizations heavily attacks, the British company. Viva struggling for the rights of animals called the idea straight gruesome. In their views the quantity of meat would waste by Tesco, is the sign of the greed and nonchalance of the supermarket.
According to Tesco it would have been more useful to burn the meat waste, than to dig. According to the protesters the real solution would be to produce less waste – reports Világgazdaság Online.
