Tesco's 100 million pound green developments
Tesco plans to spend more than 100 million pounds (31 billion HUF) on green improvements in the 2010/2011 financial year – said Terry Leahy, Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Leahy handed over the first zero-carbon Tesco in Ramsey, East of England. He said, that the company aims to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions by half, until 2020 and reduce the emissions to zero, until 2050.
The Chief Executive pointed out, that each of the new stores will be handed over in the 2010/2011 financial year, will emit 50-70 percent less carbon dioxide than the previous ones. Moreover, if the Ramsey-based zero-carbon store will work well, all of the new units will be based on it – reports Privatbankar.hu.
