Changes in the law on the environmental protection product fee
There will be changes in Act 85 of 2011 on the environmental protection fee. With the amendments the goal is adapt to the related changes in European Union directives. The plan is that from 1 January 2018 the commercial packaging material category will cease to exist. At the same time the definition of aluminium drink packaging will be introduced, as a result of which the formerly HUF 304/kg environmental protection product fee will drop to HUF 57/kg. The changes will also try to cut in-store small plastic bag use by increasing the fee on them to HUF 1,900/kg. //
