Product recall at IKEA
IKEA is asking all customers who have purchased the IKEA 365+ HJÄLTE mixing spatula to stop using the product and contact IKEA. The affected product has the article number 401-494-62 and the date stamp 2445 (YYWW) (this applies to products purchased after November 2024).
Why is the product unsafe to use?
Based on the results of a local test in Belgium, the migration of primary aromatic amines (PAA) exceeded the permitted limit, and IKEA is therefore recalling IKEA 365+ HJÄLTE mixing spatulas with the above date stamp.
What should customers do?
Customers who purchased the affected spatula – date stamped 2445 (YYWW) and purchased after November 2024 – are asked to stop using the product and contact IKEA for a full refund. IKEA also asks customers to spread the word about the recall, especially if they know that the recalled product has been given to someone else, lent or sold.
What are the remedies available to customers?
Affected products can be returned to any IKEA store, where customers will receive a full refund. Proof of purchase with a receipt or invoice is not required.
