Penny Market is expanding
The German discount chain owned by REWE plans to open hundred new supermarkets in the next three to five years in the Czech Republic. The planned investment value is at least 100 million euros.
Armin Rahberger, one of the leaders of the REWE group talked about the plans to Noviny Hospodárské a Czech economic and political daily. Rahberger also told that they can open new businesses in cities even less with than 10 thousand inhabitants. He also mentioned that for the REWE group Czech Republic is currently the most important foreign partner and market, and if there will be an opportunity the Penny Market will buy any rivals in the Czech Republic – reports Menedzsment Fórum.
