Timisoara receives the Golden Apple Award of the International Association of Tourism Journalists
This year, the Romanian city of Timișoara will receive the Golden Apple Award of the International Federation of Tourism Journalists and Writers (FIJET), the organization announced on Wednesday.
According to the announcement of the international organization, the award will be presented on March 24 in Timișoara. The award has been presented annually since 1971, and is given to an organization, settlement or person in recognition of their activities for the development and promotion of tourism. The winner is decided by a jury of journalists.
According to Bulgarian journalist Plamen Starev, chairman of the Golden Apple board, the Golden Apple award recognizes the continuous development of Timisoara. In fact, while the Bánság settlement is developing and beautifying, it also preserves the “aroma” of the past centuries and remains a settlement “where history is not only an interesting read, but is right in front of our eyes,” the statement quoted the president as saying.
