Despite the winter bee mortality, the beekeepers may have a successful year
In spite of the serious winter bee mortality the beekeepers can have a successful year. Rape and acacia honey were less, but the amount of sunflower honey was excellent – the president of the Békés County Beekeepers Association told MTI on Tuesday.
Haász Ferenc explained that last year, nearly a quarter of the honey stock was destroyed or weakened due to the hard cold and the prolific Asian bee viruses. The flock was unable to recover in case of rapeseed and acacia, so beekeeper a very poor harvest of rapeseed, and a weak medium year from acacia. (MTI)
