Budai Gyula reconciliated with the dairy market participants
The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Rural Development (VM) met the representatives of the Hungarian dairy farmers and milk processors for the second time since their appointment in March – VM informed MTI after the meeting, which took place on Tuesday in Budapest.
Budai Gyula at the meeting reported that following their latest discussion he agreed with the representatives of the big supermarket chains about a number of issues, and promised that they will take the imported UHT milks and Trappist cheese off the shelves.
The dairy farmers at the meeting told that due to Hungary's EU accession their problems were not treated equivalent to the weight of these issues. That is why they have found themselves in such a difficult situation, due to the EU’s overproduction and because of the reduction of the transfer price of raw milk. (MTI)
