World Milk Day: this happened at the Vitafort Zrt. National Partner Meeting
Due to the positive properties of milk, as well as to draw people’s attention to the importance of calcium intake, the UN World Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) designated June 1 as World Milk Day. On this day, we pay tribute to one of our most important and versatile staple foods and to everything that the dairy sector contributes to the proper nutrition of humanity, sustainability, economic development and health.
This year, the National Professional Partner Meeting of Vitafort Első Karmánygyártó és Forgalmazó Zrt. and the World Milk Day event of the Tej Terektánács were jointly organized on June 6, 2023.
Dr. Beáta Olga Felkai, the deputy state secretary responsible for food chain supervision, emphasized that dairy production is one of the most important branches of the food industry that processes domestic raw materials. In order to further strengthen this, the ministry also tries to provide financial and regulatory assistance. The deputy state secretary explained the features of the support so far and drew attention to the planned future opportunities. As a result of a recent research, the innovative values and possibilities of the milk sector have come to the fore, so exploiting this is a priority. The effectiveness of dairy production depends on the production and sale of high-quality and high-added-value products, so Beáta Felkai drew attention to the potential of the KMÉ and the achievements of the dairy product trademark so far, and also discussed the expected changes in the Hungarian Food Code.
