The long-term growth potential of the global economy is fundamentally determined by technological development, especially the rise of artificial intelligence (AI). The related investments could become one of the most important pillars of competitiveness in Hungary in the coming years. However, the short-term performance is currently overshadowed by the uncertainty of geopolitical conflicts.

“Looking at the development of the global economy this year, the expectations of more than 3 percent at the beginning of the year have been somewhat reduced due to tensions in the Middle East. have moderated; growth is currently balancing in the range of 2.7-2.9 percent. One of the most important drivers of the economy may continue to be the wave of investments related to artificial intelligence, which has already provided one of the main driving forces of this year’s forecasts. These developments enable more efficient production and data-driven decision-making, which is also indispensable for maintaining domestic market positions”

– said Tibor Bodor, head of the corporate division of K&H.

“The outlook is improved by the parallel emergence of investments by large international industrial players and technology-focused developments in the economy. While global uncertainty is temporarily tightening the economy, large corporate investments can provide lasting support for exports and productivity. In parallel, the rise in real wages can provide an important internal safety net for domestic consumption. The current period can also be interpreted as the foundation of a new, technology-driven adaptation cycle, in which corporate flexibility can create new growth opportunities. The data from the K&H Large Enterprise Growth Index also confirms: the integration of AI is no longer just a strategic goal, but also one of the main tools for maintaining efficiency. In addition to optimizing processes, in-house developed solutions tailored to corporate needs are expected to receive increasing emphasis in the future,”
