Amazon is checking social distancing with the help of cameras
Many criticize Amazon for believing the company has minimal protection for its employees against the coronavirus. The company has now done something that might change the minds of critics.

One important rule that everyone should follow to control the coronavirus is distance. We’ve heard this many times in recent months, and we probably will in the future. Companies, meanwhile, have taken various precautions to minimize worker contact with each other. Jeff Bezos’s Amazon has also put this in place, but there’s another way to help stay away: smart cameras scan workers walking up and down and also signal when workers are too close to each other.
As The Verge has shown, cameras work in conjunction with artificial intelligence. The development first checks that the distance between the two workers is correct and then sends the result to the monitors in the corridors. Incoming / departing subordinates can follow these to see if they are far enough away from the others. If all the rules are followed, a green circle will be visible under the workers’ feet, but if the distance decreases, the signal will turn red.
