Spring tax package 2025 – wide-ranging changes in several tax codes
The Ministry of National Economy has submitted the draft of the spring tax package to the Parliament, which includes amendments to several tax codes. EY experts provide information on the most important changes.
“One of the goals of the tax package is to raise certain provisions previously regulated in government decrees to the level of law, and to align them with EU expectations and changes in the economic environment,”
– highlighted András Módos, head of EY’s tax and legal advisory business.
“The proposal brings significant changes in several areas. For example, in the area of corporate taxation, the conditions for certain tax benefits are changed favorably, the data reporting obligations of VAT subjects are expanded, and an important detail of the global minimum tax is also changed. Most of the amendments may enter into force after their announcement, therefore it is particularly important that companies familiarize themselves with the draft in a timely manner and respond appropriately to the changes affecting them,”
– added the tax manager.
The significant changes affecting each type of tax were summarized by Dr. Dániel Bajusz and Dr. Melinda Rákosa, EY tax and legal advisory experts.
