Scottish whiskey export sales fell to a ten-year low last year
Revenues from Scotch whiskey exports fell to a ten-year low last year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and due to the increased US criminal duty.
According to the Scottish Whiskey Producers Association’s (SWA) website, 3.8 billion pounds worth of Scotch whiskey was exported last year, which is 23 percent less, compared to a year before.
The value of whiskey exported to the United States, the largest foreign market in the sector for decades, has fallen by 31.8 percent to 729 million pounds. (MTI)
