Champagne consumption stagnated last year
According to a statement sent to MTI on Wednesday, this amount is roughly 1.2 liters of annual consumption per capita, and the specific value includes sparkling, sparkling and still wines in addition to champagnes. In recent years, consumer demand has shifted towards quality champagnes, with an increase not only in the higher-priced products of traditional champagne brands, but also in the demand for market-leading Italian and German champagnes.
