The number of overnight stays broke a record last year in the EU
The number of overnight stays broke a record again last year in the European Union, despite the fact that far fewer people visited the tourist facilities of France and Britain, compared to the previous year – according to the first estimates published by the EU’s statistical office (Eurostat) on Tuesday.
Compared to the previous year, the number of overnight stays increased by 2.0 percent to 2.8 billion in the EU last year. The rise is steady since 2009, mainly due to the ongoing revival of foreign tourism. (MTI)
