The consumption of vodka and gin increased last year
Spirits turnover at the organized retail was stable with about 70 billion HUF, between December 2008 and November 2009, just as in the same comparable previous period.
Compared to the previos year, both Vodka and Gin sales were able to increase in value and in quantity; Vodka by 8 and 2, gin by 15, and 9 percent.
According to the Nielsen market reserch company; The largest turnover, exceeding 10 billion HUF was reached by bitter, pálinka and vodka. Bitter’s over 15 billion HUF retail sales increased by 1 percent in value and declined 1 percent in volume.
