3.4 billion HUF was paid out for the school milk program last year

Last year, approximately one billion HUF more support was given to the School Fruit Scheme – the Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (MVH) told MTI on Monday.

According to the information a significant progress was carried out in the program the past year. Last year, approximately 2.72 billion HUF, 1 billion HUF more support was paid out for this purpose.

With the program, the Ministry of Agriculture (FM) in addition to the healthy nutrition of the school students supports the activities of the local producers as well.

In the School Fruit Scheme an average of 341 thousand pupils received fresh vegetables and fruits and fruit or vegetables juice in the 2012/2013 in the School Fruit Scheme, while in the 2013/2014 school year, 345 thousand pupils. (MTI).
