One-third less malls were handed over last year
According to the study of Cushman & Wakefield; last year, such a decline occurred in the developments of the shopping center, that has not observed since 1983.
5.2 million square meters of shopping center was opened last year, which is 30 percent less than in 2009.
In Europe, 165 new shopping centers were handed over in 2010, with a total of 131.9 million square meters of gross leasable area. Similar to the previous years, the largest part of the new areas (63 percent) were handed over in Central Europe, last year – reports Világgazdaság Online.
