In December last year, the annual inflation rate in Romania was 4 percent, above the 1.5-3.5 percent target set by the National Bank of Romania – according to the data of the Romanian National Institute of Statistics published on Tuesday.
Since 2013, the central bank has set an inflation target of 1.5 – 3.5 percent. In December consumer prices were 4.04 percent higher, compared to December of the previous year. The highest increase was observed in food prices, which increased by 5 percent, while the price of services increased by 4.1 percent and non-foods-by 3.3 percent. (MTI)
