Holiday checks made up 9 percent of the income of accommodations last year
Acording to Central Statistical Office, holiday checks were used in a value of more than 21 billion HUF at commercial accommodation last year. Fourteen billion HUF was recorded at the hotels.
The Hungarian National Holiday Foundation issued a total of 41 billion checks in 2008. Fourty-one percent of the holiday checks were used in hotels, while fourteen percent in pensions. The total value of the checks were 9 percent of the total revenue and made up the 40 percent of the gross domestic accommodations. Compared to the previous year, the number of checks exchanged, increased by 3 percentage points. The domestic accommodation price increased by 7 percentage points.
