40 million foreigners visited Hungary last year

Last year, 2 percent less foreign visitors came into Hungary (39.9 million) than in the previous year – reports the Central Statistical Office.

Foreigners spent a total of 95.7 million a days in Hungary, which is 1 percent below the previous year. During this period, their total consumption in Hungary decreased by 1 percent to 1190 billion HUF. Nearly 70 percent (828 billion) of this amount is connected to tourism related consumptions. The Hungarian travelers spent 658 billion, HUF 15 percent less abroad, compared to a year earlier.
