ALDI continues its long-term price cuts: it is reducing the consumer price of several fresh pork products. The current measure is the fifth long-term price cut in the fresh meat category this year, with which the discount chain is further helping Hungarian customers reduce their everyday expenses.

The year 2026 started with long-term price cuts for several product categories at ALDI. More than fifty dairy products, fresh chicken and pork, and several private-label chocolates became significantly more affordable in the discount chain’s stores. In February, the price reduction in the purchasing markets continued, which is partly due to the oversupply in European markets and partly to the weaker demand experienced after the holiday season. ALDI has once again achieved more favorable purchasing conditions, which is why, after January, it is also reducing the price of fresh Hungarian pork products in February.

The current measure affects 9 popular ingredients of Hungarian cuisine – including pork loin, shoulder and minced meat. The price per kilo of vacuum-packed, cut pork shoulder will be reduced from HUF 1,755 to HUF 1,649, a 1-kilogram package of minced pork with a 30% fat content will cost HUF 1,799 instead of HUF 1,899, while a 500-gram package of bone-in pork loin will be reduced from HUF 1,059 to HUF 999. Several packages of pork legs and loins have also become cheaper.

In November 2021, ALDI decided to exclusively stock fresh meat from Hungarian suppliers in its permanent range, a commitment the company has consistently maintained ever since. The fresh pork, which is now cheaper, also comes exclusively from Hungarian sources, meaning it arrives at the store from domestic farming, slaughtering and processing, and is all part of ALDI’s own-brand HÚSMESTER product line.
